About ACES
Nice to meet you! We are Josh Ricker and Marc Mathon, co-founders of ACES Ltd. Our journey started in 2008 when Josh (a machinist working with graphite) realized the graphite industry supplying mining bit manufacturers became complacent with very long delivery times, high defect rates, poor service and rising overall cost effects on the consuming manufacturers.
Marc Mathon, P.Eng (an engineer) who happened to be Josh’s football coach entertained a conversation with Josh about the possibility of developing new graphite formulation specifically designed to improve material performance for the mining bit industry.
That conversation extended to designing a business model that focused on having best delivery times, best customer service in the industry with the objective of lowering overall costs to industrial clients.
After more than a year experimenting with graphite formulations in 2012 and 2013, largely due to Josh’s relentless work, the MR52 line of graphite was born. Despite competing with Asian suppliers, we took losses to get our material into the hands of clients. We successfully got our product tested and manufacturers witnessed molds made with our MR52 material outlasted existing materials by 60% to 100%.
We went on to provide unparalleled customer service with best delivery times to that industry. Since then we have focused on helping our customers make best use of graphite in a variety of industries.
We have applied our successful business philosophy in supplying electrodes to foundries, molds & crucibles to precious metal processors, graphite components to aluminum plants, R&D products to researchers, graphite fixtures to casting clients and many others.
Our evolution since 2014 includes the supply of multiple grades of graphite ranging from isostatic to die molded to extruded graphite materials. The future is bright as we continue to push forward with providing industry leading personal technical service and best lead times that hopefully cause our clients to want to make us their teammates.
